Jeremiah: The Tough Lover
Set against the fall of Judah in 586 BCE, the Book of Jeremiah balances grief and judgment with profound hope for restoration. It chronicles a turning point in history—where loss paves the way for a long-promised return to rebuild Jerusalem.
Join our weekly gathering as we study the text, explore its plain meaning, examine its historical reception, and reflect on its relevance for our lives today.
Interfaith Bible Study: The Gospel According to Mark
The Gospel of Mark is a short, sixteen-chapter “event” that turned the ancient Greco-Roman world upside down. Rather than filtering the text through a modern lens, this class invites us to hear the story as a first-century audience might have—capturing the raw, counter-cultural power of a message that challenged the empires and authorities of its day.
Together, we have a singular opportunity to explore Mark’s distinct narrative craft, his koan-like dialogue, and a profound spiritual urgency that offers a very relevant way of thinking for our own day and age.
